Check out the official trailer for the upcoming release of The Palisades Project. Within the last few decades a love for motorized and mechanized recreation has created a wave of opposition to the protections provided by the Wilderness Act of 1964. As this conflict continues to spread across the west, this film uses the little known Greater Palisades landscape located in the Northwest corner of Wyoming to expose the issue and inspire opposing sides towards a solution. Don't miss the virtual Wyoming Premiere on March 26th from The Center For the Arts followed by a livestream panel discussion.
The Palisades Project film aims to move conflicting perspectives towards a solution. Almost all the voices involved in the film are already heavily involved. Taylar Stagner, an Eastern Shoshone descendant speaks to how indigenous people, the original inhabitants and stewards of our public lands, are inexcusably left out of conversations like this one. WWA believes we have an opportunity and obligation to change that.
The Palisades Project is collection of voices who are important to the future management of the Palisades Wilderness Study Area. Dan Smitherman, horse packer and Wyoming Representative for The Wilderness Society is one of those voices.
The Palisades Project film focuses on a 21st century conflict. To fully understand this issue, let us consider the thousands of years of culture and context that predate it in this timeline that covers the human history on the landscape.
Short and sweet, this teaser shares just enough about The Palisades Project story! Check it out and don't miss the virtual Wyoming premiere on Friday, March 26th!
